Milestone for a healthy inter-state relation:
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who is on her first state visit to India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi gave Mette Frederiksen a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan. She paid her respects to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.

Welcoming Ceremony:
The Danish prime minister is in India for the first time. On Saturday morning, she landed in New Delhi and met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs, greeted her at the Delhi airport. She then paid her tribute to the father of the nation at Right.
When Frederiksen, now 43, was elected prime minister of Denmark in 2019, she became the country’s youngest prime minister and the second woman to hold the position.
Significance of the meet:
After the ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Frederiksen stated that she could foresee an ambitious Indian administration taking responsibility for the issue of green transition in India and the rest of the world.
Frederiksen also meets with President Ram Nath Kovind for bilateral talks, and she will also meet with the civil society representatives, students and think tanks.
Mette Frederiksen’s visit is significant because she is the first head of state to visit India after the COVID-19 limitations were imposed last March; Dr S Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs, paid a visit to Denmark earlier this year.
Arindam Bagchi, one of the spokespeople for the External Affairs Ministry, said the Danish Prime Minister’s visit provides a chance to evaluate and advance the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership.
Trade and business links between India and Denmark are significant. More than 200 Danish enterprises operate in India, whereas more than 60 Indian companies operate in Denmark.
Renewable water and waste management, agriculture and animal husbandry, energy, clean technologies, science and technology, digitalization including ICT, intelligent cities, shipping, and other industries have a strong partnership.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Danish colleague Mette Frederiksen conducted “fruitful” talks focused on boosting cooperation in several vital areas, including health, agriculture, water management, climate change, and renewable energy.
Visit Taj Mahal:
Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and her husband Bo Tengberg visited the Taj Mahal, describing it as on Sunday morning “wonderful place.” Around 8.30 p.m. on Saturday, Frederiksen landed at the Airforce Station in Agra. Kant Sharma, the Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister, greeted her with officials from the city and police administration.
After the welcome, Frederiksen left for Hotel Amar Vilas, where he would spend the night. The Danish Prime Minister, her husband, and a delegation arrived at the environmentally-friendly vehicles on Sunday morning.
Local artists from the ‘Braj’ greeted the guests there. Frederiksen and her husband spent one and a half hours inside the Taj Mahal, and she was fascinated by the tour guide’s explanations of the monument’s history.
Frederiksen expressed his gratitude in the visitors’ book, writing, “This site is magnificent.” Following his visit to the Taj Mahal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to the Agra Fort at 10.50 a.m. and toured the monument until 11.50 a.m.
