Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani is one of the most popular rom-com Bollywood movies. The story lies about friends that go on a trek and they become the closest to each other in no time, the main characters were Naina(Deepika Padukone), Bunny(Ranbir Singh), Aditi(Kalki Koechlin), and Avi(Aditya Roy Kapoor).Â
The Storyline: Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
The story starts with Naina’s family’s pressure for her to become a doctor with 100% of her concentration without any distractions such as trips with friends, while Naina is struggling with the mental pressure.
She finds out her school friends are going on a trek to Manali and decides to go along without telling her family members. There she meets her long-lost schoolmates Bunny and Avi, while Aditi insists, that she joins their company, on that trek Naina falls in love with Bunny and choose not to tell him as Bunny decides to leave the country for his journalism course. All the friends are reunited after years at Aditi’s wedding where they enjoy again with each other and Naina meets Bunny while she fell for him twice.
They both finally decide to part ways as Naina’s desk job as a doctor cannot go hand in hand with Bunny’s world tour as a journalist, but being in love in the end Bunny decides not to leave the country and be with Naina for the new years eve.
Bunny and Naina are together and enjoy their dinner while Bunny proposes to her and she says yes after asking multiple questions at once. Finally, all the friends call each other to announce the relationship Naina and Bunny share and wish each other a Happy New Year.
The overall message
The story shows the perfectionism that lies in friendships and unbreakable bonds between souls. The fun element these four friends add while they are together is worth a giggle. Romance at the most subtle level yet beautifully portrayed by every moment of proximity between Naina and Bunny. Avi and Bunny’s friendship shows how people can be physically disconnected yet the closest to one another.
Bunny’s family situation portrayed in the movie also shows the importance and the love a family provides and how unpredictable life can be.
Gist-of-life messages enlighten the movie and promotes the youth to stay back to enjoy times rather than running after new things while forgetting about the beauty in peace and stability.The movie also portrays life decision-making and how hectic can it be to switch between personal and professional life at times. It is a perfect rom-com in terms of the love that is shown and the fun that exists around loving and caring.Â
Change suggestions
The thing that could have been changed is that it would have been a twist if Avi knew that Aditi had a crush on him back in the early days of their friendship.
