RRR takes home the trophy for the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ in Golden Globes 2024.
“Naatu Naatu” from the movie RRR has created history in the 80th edition of the Golden Globes 2024 by winning the best song in a motion picture award. It is the first Indian song to win a Golden Globe Award. The composer MM Keeravani received the trophy on stage as his colleagues, director SS Rajamouli, actor Ram Charan, and Jr. NTR, cheered him from their table.
Besides the original song for “Naatu Naatu,” RRR was also nominated in the Best Non-English Language Film category, which it lost to Argentina’s Argentina 1985. Naatu Naatu was competing against Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up,” Taylor Swift’s “Carolina,” Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand,” and “Ciao Papa” from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted congratulating the entire team saying ‘This prestigious honor made every Indian very proud.’ Shah Rukh Khan said, “Sir just woke up and started dancing to Naatu Naatu celebrating your win at Golden Globes. Here’s to many more award & making India so proud!” Soon after their win, Pop Singer Rihanna was seen congratulating the team as she walked by the RRR table with her partner ASAP Rockey.
RRR’s Naatu Naatu Song
The song “Naatu Naatu” was sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bairava and penned by Chandrabose. Helmed by SS Rajamouli, film set in the 1920s, stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, as well as British actors Rey Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris in pivotal roles.
MM Keeravani made history and receiving the prestigious award he expressed his gratitude towards the entire team of RRR on the stage. Also, he shared the happiness of receiving the Golden Globe Award in the presence of his wife Srivalli.
