Pradeep Sarkar, the director of the masterpiece film Parineeta, died on Friday. Pradeep’s wife, Panchali, confirmed the news. Sarkar was 67 when he passed away.
Pradeep Sarkar was admitted to the Lilavati hospital in Mumbai‘s northwestern outskirts.He was admitted to the ICU following a fever.
His wife, Panchali, informed a famous media house that the director passed away at the Lilavati hospital between 3:10 a.m. and 3:30 a.m.
Sarkar was under medication on March 22 because he was suffering from viral fever. There was not much progress even after the medications. He was rushed to the hospital because his health was not improving.
Pradeep’s wife stated that when they reached the hospital with Pradeep Sarkar, his health worsened. He was immediately placed on a ventilator in the intensive care unit, where he was diagnosed with pneumonia.His health became serious as the pneumonia attacked the lungs.
What Doctors Said about Pradeep Sarkar
According to the doctors, Sarkar had many diseases at a time, which had weakened his immunity. He had fluctuating blood pressure. He was earlier detected with COVID on July 20, 2022, for which he had a weak health.
Pradeep Sarkar made his debut as a director in 2005 with Parineeta. Laaga Chunari Mein Daag in 2007, Lafangey Parindey in 2010, Mardaani in 2014, and Helicopter Eela in 2018 are some of his most well-known projects.
Ajay Devgn shared a post on Twitter sharing his sadness after the news of Pradeep Sarkar’s demise. He quoted the director as ‘dada’. He said that it was hard for him to digest this news. He gave his deepest condolences. He said that he will be praying for Pradeep and his family.
Famous filmmaker Hansal Mehta shared a post on Twitter with a picture of the director and wrote “rip dada”.
Manoj Bajpayee, while responding to Mehta’s tweet, said he was shocked to hear the news. He also wished Sarkar to rest in peace.
The film director, Kunal Kohli, also tweeted. He was also shocked upon hearing the news of Pradeep Sarkar’s demise. He said Sarkar was a sweet man. Kunal Kohli stated in his tweet that he used to have lovely conversations about cinema with Pradeep Sarkar. He also dedicated a song to Pradeep to celebrate his cinema.
Renowned Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh tweeted that he will miss Sarkar. He described Pradeep Sarkar as a childlike and full-of-life man from whom he learned a lot.Pradeep’s Lafangey Parindey will always be close to his heart. He would pray for Sarkar’s family.
TV actors Rajeev Khandelwal and Namit Das also paid condolences on Twitter. They also wrote emotional notes.
Namit Das praised Sarkar’s work on his Instagram account and cherished the bond that the director had with everyone on the set. He shared many memories with the director.
He stated that it’s depressing news to wake up to. He didn’t have a smartphone when they worked together in Lafangey Parindey, so he didn’t have a decent photo of them together. He also said that even after someone passes away, the power of the unspoken persists in relationships. He added that bringing like-minded people together and then allowing them to blossom unlike anybody else was the most valuable quality of Sarkar.
Rajiv Khandelwal, who shared a close relationship with the director, remembered the short period of time that he spent with him.
Actress Pallavi Subhas also posted a picture of the director along with a emotional note.
Pradeep Sarkar started his career in television commercials and ads before becoming a famous director. He worked as a creative director and writer on some of the most well-known advertisements, including Cadburys, Coca-Cola, in which Amir Khan played a Bengali, and Horlicks.
