Vladimir Putin, according to the Kremlin, has visited the headquarters of the Russian forces fighting the war in Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday visited command posts of the Kremlin’s forces fighting in Ukraine.
Putin’s visit can be seen as an effort to rally Russian troops as the war approaches its 14th month.
Putin can be seen flying to the Russian National Guard headquarters in the eastern Luhansk area after landing by helicopter at the command post for Russian soldiers in the southern Kherson district, according to a video supplied by the Kremlin and shown on Russian state media.
Putin seemed to preside over the talks with his military’s top brass while wearing a black suit as a sign of dominance. He had already visited the Russian-occupied regions of the neighbouring nation twice in the previous two months.
It was impossible to determine how near to the front line the military headquarters are in the Kherson and Luhansk areas since their positions weren’t made public.

Heavy combat in the country’s east, notably in the area around the town of Bakhmut, which has served as the scene of the longest and bloodiest battles in the war for 812 months, has caused a standstill in Russia’s conflict in Ukraine.
Putin complimented the soldiers on Orthodox Easter, which was observed on Sunday, and gave them icons at both places.
Putin’s Russia seized the provinces of Kherson, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia in September. This move was rejected by most of the countries and called it as illegal.

Putin, on last month travelled to Mariupol, a port city on the Sea of Azov that is under Russian control and was taken by Russian forces in May after two months of ferocious warfare.
Putin’s visits to the military’s top command gains importance as Ukraine is ready to launch a new counteroffensive to retake the seized areas.
According to Ukrainian authorities, they are gaining time by weakening Russian forces involved in the conflict while Kyiv gets ready to launch a counteroffensive. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, if Russia triumph in the battle of Bakhmut, Vladimir Putin may be able to start gaining support for a peace agreement that would force Ukraine to make unfavourable concessions in order to put an end to the conflict.

Oleksiy Danilov, the secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council, said in an interview with The Associated Press that the government is receiving heavy armoured vehicles and ammunition from the country’s allies to assist in acquiring the level of sophisticated weaponry necessary to launch the attack.

He expressed certainty that Ukraine would be able to reclaim all territory it had conquered. “We will defeat Russia,” he said.

At the same time, the G7 foreign ministers have promised to intensify sanctions against Russia due to its involvement in the conflict in Ukraine. They have also slammed China for its activities in the Taiwan Strait and the disputed South China Sea and urged Beijing “to act as a responsible member of the international community.”
The G7 countries declared that war crimes and other atrocities, such as Russia’s attacks against civilians and vital civilian infrastructure, cannot be committed without consequences. The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to escalating sanctions on Russia and promised to assist Ukraine’s self-defense efforts “for as long as it takes.”
