Amit Shah’s plea to the people
Union Home Minister, Amit Shah requested the people of Manipur to maintain peace for just a few days until he arrives at the spot to ease out the situation.
He stated that justice will be served on everyone in the state.
“There were clashes in Manipur following a court decision.” I would urge both factions to preserve peace because justice will be served to everybody. “I will go to Manipur in a few days and stay for three days, talking to the people of Manipur about restoring peace,” Shah stated.
Education of children being a priority
An official from the Mizoram administration said on Thursday that youngsters uprooted by recent ethnic disturbances in Manipur will be permitted to continue their education here.
The state school education department has asked all district and school authorities to allow displaced students to enroll in state-run and government-aided schools in a letter sent to all district education officers, sub-divisional education officers, and principals of state-run higher secondary schools on Wednesday.
“Recent unrest in Manipur has resulted in a large influx of internally displaced children into Mizoram.” “It is therefore requested that all district and school authorities allow admission even if proper documentation for the children cannot be provided if and when they solicit admission to schools,” stated education department director Lalsangliana in a letter.
