The suspect confessed to the police that he knew the girl’s father had recently sold a property and assumed that the cash from the sale was kept in the house. With this knowledge, the suspect unlawfully entered the premises and seized ₹20,000. Unfortunately, during this act, the girl caught sight of him. Fearing recognition and potential consequences, he resorted to heinous actions, choking the girl with a rope. Afterward, he carefully wrapped the lifeless body in a quilt and concealed it within his wardrobe.
In Jagdishpura locality of Agra, a heart-wrenching incident unfolded as the dead body of a nine-year-old girl was discovered concealed inside a wardrobe within a rented room. Tragically, the young girl’s family resided in the same house, sharing it with the tenant. The shocking revelation came to light when it was revealed that the tenant had purportedly committed the heinous act of strangling the innocent child. The motive behind this unspeakable crime was allegedly the tenant’s fear of being exposed after the little girl caught him red-handed attempting to pilfer cash from her family’s living quarters. This distressing event took place while the parents were away, leaving the girl vulnerable and defenseless.
Vikas Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (City Zone) in Agra, stated during a press conference held at Police Lines on Tuesday, “On Monday evening, the father of the girl filed a complaint at Jagdishpura police station, reporting that his daughter had gone to the market but did not come back. Following the registration of a case, a search operation was initiated.”
The DCP informed that the police had questioned the residents of the area and held discussions with the grieving family members. The investigation led them to focus on a man who had actively participated in the search for the missing girl. The suspect was apprehended and subjected to interrogation, which ultimately revealed his guilt. Following the recovery of the victim’s body from a wardrobe in his room, the culprit was promptly arrested.
According to individuals familiar with the situation, it has come to light that the accused, Shani, resided as a tenant in the same house where the girl’s family also lived as renters. The parents of the girl would reportedly leave her alone during the day while they went out for work.
“The authorities have uncovered the body and subsequently arranged for a post-mortem examination to be conducted. A case has been filed against the accused individual, Shani, under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 302 (murder), 363 (kidnapping), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offense), 397 (robbery), and 411 (dishonestly retaining stolen property). The accused was presented in court on Tuesday,” stated the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), who further mentioned that no previous criminal record has been found for the accused so far.
The Jagdishpura locality was engulfed in immense anger following the tragic murder of a minor and the shocking discovery of the victim’s body concealed inside the accused’s cupboard.
