Shortly after the birth of their second child, a baby girl, proud parents – Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta have now unveiled the name of their daughter.

The Ambani family got extended. With the birth of a baby girl over a week ago, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta Ambani, the eldest son and daughter-in-law of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, chose the name Veda for their newborn daughter.
They shared this joyful announcement via a social media post, expressing their gratitude to Lord Krishna and the blessings of Dhirubhai & Kokilaben Ambani. The post stated, ‘Prithvi is overjoyed to introduce his adorable baby sister, Veda Akash Ambani, as she enters our lives with the grace of Lord Krishna.’
The couples had been blessed with their daughter on May 31.
Meaning of the name ‘Veda’
Veda, derived from Sanskrit, is a feminine name associated with wisdom and knowledge. It holds popularity among adherents of Hinduism. The Vedas, considered sacred texts in early Indian scripture, serve as the foundation of the religion. These ancient Sanskrit writings are believed to have been authored by Indian scholars and are among the oldest forms of literature in the language.
Welcoming of the 2nd child
Prior to giving birth to her baby girl, Shloka was spotted visiting Mumbai’s Siddivinayak Temple alongside her husband Akash, father-in-law Mukesh Ambani, and their son Prithvi. Despite being pregnant, she appeared radiant and beautiful, emanating a pregnancy glow.
Shloka, who shared the news of her second pregnancy during the grand opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in April, recently gave birth to a baby girl last month. The couples tied the knot in March 2019. Following their marriage, the couple welcomed their first child, Prithvi, in the year 2020.
Dhanraj Nathwani, a close friend of the Ambani children and the son of family confidant and Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani, took to Twitter to share the news of the birth of the baby girl. He expressed his “heartfelt congratulations” to Akash and Shloka Ambani, wishing them immense happiness and love with their precious blessing.

Akash’s twin sister, Isha, and her husband, Anand Piramal, became parents to twins named Krishna and Aadiya, in November last year.
Mukesh Ambani, the head of the Ambani family, has three children – twins Akash and Isha, and their younger brother Anant. All three of them are now actively involved in the family’s conglomerate chain, which spans various industries from oil to telecom to retail. Akash oversees the telecom business, Isha is engaged in the retail venture, and Anant is responsible for the new energy vertical.
Shloka and Akash exchanged vows in a grand and opulent wedding ceremony held in March 2019. The celebrations were extravagant, with numerous Bollywood celebrities in attendance. Notable personalities such as Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, the Bachchan family, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, as well as Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, among others, were present to witness and celebrate their union.
