The Argentina football sensation Lionel Messi on Thursday said that he rekindled happiness since joining the American club Inter Miami. He described his move to Major League Soccer (MLS) as the “opposite” of his transfer from Barcelona FC to the Ligue 1 team Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Messi who recently transferred from PSG after playing for two years in France, has scored nine exceptional goals in six appearances for Inter Miami.
The FIFA World Cup winner Lionel speaking to the native media for the first time since his arrival in Miami seemed to be relaxed and talked positively about his life in South Florida and differentiated his tenure in the French capital where PSG fans booed him.
Lionel said that during that time he didn’t wish his departure from Paris (PSG) nor he wanted to leave Barcelona. “it was from one day to the next” he added.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or said that he had to adapt to a completely different environment compared to his previous life where it is a completely different city and sporting sense too. He further added that the scenario is completely different from what he thought – “ the opposite is happening to me here”.
The Argentina forward had been with the Spanish giants Barcelona since he was 13 and the main reason for his move from the club was the Financial crisis of Barcelona.
There were discussions in the media that Messi would make a return to his former club Barcelona or join the oil-rich Saudi Pro League, but he said that he was delighted with his decision to join the American club.
He stated that he is very happy with this decision he made not only for football/soccer but also for his family. He alongside his family looks at things one day at a time, they look for their new experience in the city. He also mentioned the people around there who exceptionally welcomed him and his family in the USA.
