On February 24, in France 9,000 subscribers of a satellite internet service provided by its subordinate Nordnet are thrown without internet after a “cyber event” at ViaSat, a US satellite operative of which it is a customer, according to orange.
On Wednesday, in the US, Viasat said that a “cyber event” had caused a “partial network outage” for customers. Europe relies on its KA-SAT satellite “in Ukraine and elsewhere”.
Although Viasat gave no further details that “police and state partners” had been informed and were accomodating with investigations.
“It was a Cyberattack” General Michel Frieling, head of France’s Space Command, said.
Viasat further clarified that he was talking about a civilian network, “For several days, shortly after the start of operations, we have had a satellite network that covers Europe and Ukraine in particular, which was the victim of a cyberattack, with tens of thousands of terminals that were rendered inoperative immediately after the attack.”
The Blockage has knocked offline over some 5,800 wind turbines in Germany and Central Europe, while the combined output of 11 gigawatts. The manufacturer said “There is no danger to the wind turbines” which continue to produce energy but can no longer be reconstituted casually.
It was started on February 24, Germany’s Enercon which said the problems, the first day of the invasion of Ukraine. The manufacturer said, “Due to a massive disruption of the satellite connection in Europe, remote monitoring and control of thousands of wind power converters is currently only possible to a limited extent”.
The Russian-Ukrainian conflict could lead to an outbreak of cyberattacks it was concerned by Military and cyber specialists.
