The US Secretary of State- Antony Blinken is completely convinced that Ukraine shall win this war. He told BBC in an interview that he may not be able to tell that for how long this war is going to last but he has a firm belief that Ukraine would be victorious. Antony Blinken recognized and spoke highly about the great resilience demonstrated by the residents of Ukraine. He made a claim that if the Russians want to discard the ruling government and perhaps install a puppet regime, it has to overthrow the willingness to save the land of about 45 million people of Ukraine.
By the activity of Russians, it could be made out that this war is far away from the notion of an end. Yet, the stern resilience demonstrated by the people of Ukraine is not letting the Russian forces advance in their plans and due to this, their operations are getting hampered continuously. In the southern part of the country, Moscow has captured areas around the Black Sea Coast and the port at Mariupol continues to remain surrounded. However, the officials of the city of Mykolaiv have said that they have been successful in driving the Russian forces out of the city. Kharkiv, the second-largest city in the country, is still under the control of the Russian forces.
Antony Blinken, in the interview with BBC, said that the global community is doing everything that is possible to force Vladimir Putin to put an end to this war. It was a war of choice and it needs to see the end now, as claimed by Blinken. Moreover, Blinken could not give an accurate time frame but is completely convinced about the victory of Ukraine. Nevertheless, the war has proceeded into the second week and continues to be a sight for mass-scale destruction. The reasons for the war may be a question of diplomacy and insecurities, but at the end of the day, it is the civilians who have become the collateral damage of the war and are suffering the most.
