In Ajmer District the administration-imposed section 144 CrPC until further orders. The section prohibits the gathering of more than four people in any concerned area. The order also states that until further notice people are not allowed to post-religious posters or hoist religious flags on government properties and also not allowed to play loud music without any kind of permission from higher-ups. The administration also added that these rules have been implied because of upcoming exams for students and also to keep communal disturbance in check, plus the section will not hamper celebrating any religious events.
BJP didn’t take this so well and party members had they are protested in front of the collectorate. Former education minister and MLA of Ajmer also said that this section is imposed to stop Hindus from celebrating their festivals. He also added that the state government is imposing these sections in every district so the Hindus can’t celebrate their festivals openly.
Leaders of BJP Mahila Morcha also said that festivals like Mahaveer Jayanti and Ambedkar Jayanti are just around the corner and they don’t us to celebrate our festivals. But the administration made it clear that the section has been imposed as a precautionary measure and people are freely allowed to celebrate their festivals.
