Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has signed a contract which extends his term for 2 more years. This has made his contract last till 2026.
Talking about his feelings about the extension he said There are so many words I could use to describe how I am feeling about this news… delighted, humbled, blessed, privileged and excited would be a start.”
He further also stated what the place means to him and what has been his relationship with it as he said “Like any healthy relationship, it always has to be a two-way street; you have to be right for each other.”
Klopp joined the team in 2015 and went on to become one of the best managers the team has ever had. Under his managerial ship, the team won the Champion’s League and won Premiere’s League after 30 years.
After the win at the Premiere’s League, he signed the contract that extended his stay as a manager of the team till 2024 and now after the win against Villareal, he has signed the contract for an extension of 2 more years.
Once the extension gets confirmed, Klopp will take charge of the team and would even take them to the UCL finals.
There were concerns that assistant manager Pep Ljinder might take over Klopp. Now, the team has confirmed that both the assistant managers’ Pep Ljinder and Peter Krawietz have signed contracts with Merseyside Club which has further eased Klopp’s contract extension.
The match against Villareal was won by Liverpool by 2-0. This win has put them on pace in reaching a third Championship final in four years.
Mike Gordon the president of Fenway Sports Group (FSG) which owns Liverpool flew in for the semi-final of the Champion’s League match between Liverpool and Villareal and one of his motives was also to get the contract signed.
