Maharashtra Politics Situation: Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari requests that a floor trial be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. for the Uddhav Thackeray-led cabinet.
Eknath Shinde, the head of the rebel Shiv Sena, announced that he and the MLAs with him would travel to Mumbai on Thursday for a floor test. He has already been in Guwahati, Assam, for more than a week with renegade Shiv Sena and Impartial MLAs, where he proclaimed the establishment of a new wing of the party that will uphold the principles of Balasaheb Thackeray and Anand Dighe.Â
Shinde claimed to have prayed at Guwahati’s Kamakhya temple for the safety and wellbeing of the citizens of Maharashtra as he left the opulent hotel where the rebel party had been staying for the previous week.Â
Devendra Fadnavis, the leading member of the BJP, met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Tuesday at Raj Bhavan despite the mounting political crisis in Maharashtra and talked of a floor test in the Assembly. According to various media outlets, the Raj Bhavan denied allegations of the issue of any document mandating a floor test at 11 on Thursday.Â
An alleged “message from the Governor” demanding a floor test on Thursday went widespread online just after Fadnavis visited with Governor Koshiyari. Raj Bhavan, meanwhile, refuted ever sending such a document.Â
The 39 Shiv Sena MLAs have stated in a memorandum to the Maharashtra Governor that they do not wish to work with the NCP or the Congress cabinet. It demonstrates that the MVA government has managed to lose authority. Following their discussion, Fadnavis said, “We have sought Governor to direct CM to immediately show his confidence through Floor test.Â
After visiting with BJP leader J P Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah to address the escalating electoral issue in the state, Fadnavis visited with the governor.Â
In light of the tumultuous circumstances in the state, sources had claimed that Governor Koshyari could request that the Maha Vikas Aghadi ministry, led by Uddhav Thackeray, demonstrate its authority in both Houses.Â
The Supreme Court’s decision on Monday to postpone the expulsion procedures against the rebel lawmakers until July 11 as well as to deny the Thackeray side’s appeal to delay having to hold a floor test until then gave the rebel group a boost and made it possible for the House to hold a floor test.Â
Eknath Shinde, the leader of the rebels, declared that he and other rebels would “soon” travel to Mumbai and claimed to have the cooperation of 50 MLAs, including nine MVA ministers.Â
It is thought that Shinde and his attorneys have discussed the prospect of a floor test where he might demonstrate the validity of the data and lay a point to form a coalition government with the BJP.Â
The saffron government has so far insisted that Shinde has not made any proposals and that it will continue to operate in a “cautious approach” mode for the time being.Â
The BJP has claimed any involvement in the uprising, but it appears that Fadnavis is playing a crucial part in formulating a post-MVA government, which he may lead with assistance from the Sena rebels.Â
Uddhav Thackeray, the chief minister of Maharashtra, urged the dissident MLAs to attend negotiations on Tuesday. Don’t be a victim of someone else’s mistakes. Nothing compares to the honour Shiv Sena bestowed upon you. We can resolve the situation if you speak up now. I continue to worry for you as the head of the Shiv Sena party and the family. Arrive in for a discussion here, he invited.Â
