Priyanka Chaturvedi, a Rajya Sabha representative for Shiv Sena rejected the rumors spread by Rahul Shewale. The former chief minister of Maharashtra had never discussed the possibility of returning to the BJP.
In a recent tweet, Priyanka Chaturvedi rejected any claims that the former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thakarey ever discussed rejoining the BJP. She is the Rajya Sabha MP of the Shiv Sena political party since 2020 and Deputy Leader of the party since 2019.
She was replying to Rahul Shewale, who said that Thackeray informed Sena MPs about his plans to rebuild connections with the BJP.
She also stated recalling the political previous events in Maharashtra as a prime illustration of how the BJP is fostering an environment that undermines democratic ideals. As per her the ED immediately closed the cases of several Legislators who were under its observation after they joined the BJP.
Earlier she had also slammed Enforcement Directorate (ED) for evolving into a BJP-extended body in modern times. She described how the governing party is subject to retaliation when the BJP is the opposition in a state. The investigation against members ends, provided, the rival politicians show up after taking a dip in the BJP’s Ganges.

What is the Political Tussle in Maharashtra
Eknath Shinde had rebelled against the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition government in late June of 2022. He subsequently won the backing of 39 of the 55 MLAs in the Shiv Sena and formed a coalition government gaining the support of the BJP.
Further, Eknath Shinde assumed leadership of the divided faction following the mutiny against Thackeray. He is the current chief minister of Maharashtra and enjoys the backing of 39 of the Sena’s 55 legislators and 12 of its 19 representatives in Parliament.
While in Delhi, Eknath Shinde stated that the remaining Shiv Sena legislators have also backed us in our stance to defend the objectives of Balasaheb Thackeray Ji. Late Balasaheb Thackeray was the founder of the Shiv Sena Political Party in Maharashtra.
Background of Shiv Sena in Maharashtra
BJP and Shiv Sena split ways in late 2019 after maintaining power together in Maharashtra until that time. Both the political parties apparently had issues over the chief minister’s position after assembly elections were held that year. The Shiv Sena party then formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi or MVA and chose Thackeray as the CM of Maharashtra.
The latest crisis ended Uddhav Thackeray’s reign. Though MVA persists but BJP and Shinde factions have formed a new administration
The Supreme Court had passed an interim order on June 27 to stay the outstanding disqualification proceedings against Shinde and fifteen other Party leaders till July 12. As per the recent developments, the Supreme Court is likely to hear a number of appeals pertaining to the latter-day political upheavals today.
