The much-awaited Apple’s biggest software update of the iPhone- iOS 16 is all set to launch today.
In Apple’s records of introducing software, iOs 16 is said to be the biggest update in its history.
As promised the launch of the said successor of iOS 15 on the 6th of June 2022, finally the day arrived to live the expectations of such a long wait.
The software is available in more than 40 languages and is compatible with iPhone 8 and above models. In another sense, it can be said that all the iPhones launched in and after the year 2017 are compatible.
The rollout date and time in India are 12 September 2022 at sharp 10:30 pm (IST).
Some of the new features:
- Reimagined Lock Screen: All apple users will now be able to personalise their lock screen with customisable fonts, colours, widgets etc.
- Create Multiple Lock Screens: Users will now be able to create different lock screens with unique backdrops and styles and can be able to switch between them effortlessly.
- Improvised Notifications: Notifications on the lock screen can be expanded, stacked or hidden. Adding to this, notifications will appear at the bottom of the screen to stay out of the way.
- Live Activities: With this new update, users will be able to track the progress of things happening around, without unlocking their devices.
- Focus: Apple’s focus mode has been into listing its essence for a long time now. In the new update, focus mode lets you select the applications and people you want to receive notifications from according to your own will. After setting up many focus modes, you can easily swipe between them to change them under your comfort and need.
- iMessage: Due to a huge demand by users, Apple is finally enabling the unsend and edit messages option. Users can even mark the message as unread if they can’t respond to it at the moment.
Not only these but Apple has filled the new software with many other breathtaking features like Richer collaboration, SharePlay via Messages, and an improved search option in mail.
A photo feature will come later this year, where the whole photo library will be shared through iCloud.
With these, the intelligence is enhanced too which will provide different functions at needed times. Like background removal in pictures and subject lifting. It will be available in Photos, screenshots, Quick Look, Safari and more.
Apple has surcharged this software with security improvements which will ensure security and protection from illicit comings.
