Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday accused Delhi Lt. Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena of nepotism. AAP alleged that Delhi L-G V K Saxena broke all rules and regulations by giving the contract for designing the Khadi lounge in Delhi to his own daughter Shivangi Saxena.

AAP also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sack him “immediately”.

Hitting out at L-G Saxena, AAP senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “How can somebody award the contract to his own daughter while being on a constitutional post? Delhi L-G has openly violated KVIC Act 1961, Aam Aadmi Party is preparing to go to court.”

Sanjay Singh added, “L-G VK Saxena, first laundered his black money to white and then awarded the contract to his daughter, while being KVIC chairman. We welcomed the investigation against Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia but nothing could be found in the probe. The BJP-led central government has not filed any cases so far. Why should L-G V K Saxena’s scams not be probed?”

AAP demands resignation of L-G

He further added that “We demand that he (L-G) should resign or he should be sacked from his post.”

He further alleged that L-G Saxena has been involved in corruption and he can’t escape the fire after lighting it up himself.

“Delhi L-G V K Saxena is clearly in violation of the Act. We are ready to go to court. And the L-G should be removed from his post until the case is not complete. He has no right to remain in this honorable post. This is the second matter against him,” alleged Sanjay Singh.

Meanwhile, the L-G office has clarified that KVIC India has issued a letter clearly stating that the full cost of execution of the project of its Mumbai Lounge was Rs 27.3 lakh, as opposed to fake figures being given by leaders of a political party.

KVIC India states that Sivangi Saxena did the planning of the design of the lounge for “free of cost” and her name was put on the plate as a goodwill gesture recognizing her services, since it saved KVIC the expense of designing.
