Manish Sisodia, a jailed former deputy chief minister, wrote an open letter from Delhi’s Tihar prison in which he questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s educational background and emphasised the importance of having a well-academically qualified leader in the nation’s top elected position. Manish Sisodia, an AAP leader and a former deputy chief minister of Delhi, appeared in court on Rouse Avenue in relation to the Delhi excise policy issue.
The Gujarat High Court last week overturned a central information commissioner (CIC) order from 2016 that enquired about the information regarding Modi’s academic credentials under the Right to Information (RTI) Act. This was to be given to AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding Modi’s academic credentials under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
Despite this, the party has stepped up its campaign. The court also imposed a $25,000 fine on Kejriwal and affirmed Gujarat University’s appeal of the CIC’s ruling. The court’s ruling was made after the AAP intensified its anti-Modi poster campaign. On Thursday, several posters across Delhi were seen questioning the Prime Minister’s educational qualifications. They also were critical of whether the country needed a more academically qualified PM.
Last month, the AAP launched the campaign “Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao” (remove Modi, preserve nation), in a bid to win votes. The administrative authority and governance of the capital have been a point of contention between the AAP and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Following Sisodia’s imprisonment in connection with alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped 2021–22 excise strategy, tensions between the two grew in February.
Kejriwal Criticizes Modi’s Academic Qualification Level in Letter Addressed to Nation
During the posting of Sisodia’s letter on Twitter on Friday, Kejriwal reiterated the point that a less educated Prime Minister can be harmful to the nation. According to him, the letter was addressed to the nation as a whole. There has been a closure of 60,000 schools according to him, and he also claims that Modi has little understanding of science and the value of education.Â
It is imperative that India’s prime minister be educated to advance, he continued.
He also mentioned that there have been advancements in science and technology throughout the world, including artificial intelligence. Continuing his statement, he said that he was depressed to hear the prime minister mention using sewer gas to make tea, which he felt was a serious issue.
There is no way that the Prime Minister can gain any credibility after claiming that aircraft flying over clouds may be able to avoid radar detection, according to Sisodia. He claimed that students make fun of him in schools and universities.

Ajit Pawar, a senior member of the Nationalist Congress Party, asserted that the BJP’s win in the 2014 election was due in large part to the charisma of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also claimed that the country’s pressing problems of inflation and youth employment outweigh the PM’s educational background.
Pawar’s comments stood in contrast to those of Sanjay Raut who has proposed that the PM openly declare his academic qualifications and that it should be displayed for all on the entrance of the Parliament building. False information has been circulated on social media alleging that Professor KS Shastri, a former vice chancellor of Gujarat University, who signed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Masters degree, died in 1981, two years before the document was released.
On Twitter and Facebook, a number of supporters of Congress made the false claims. Anil Patel, a social activist and supporter of the Congress tweeted a collage of two photographs, one of which showed a copy of the PM’s degree and another a screenshot of Shastri with the dates 22-08-1980 to 13-07-1981 in brackets. Patel tweeted the collage asking the credibility of the certificate if it was signed by someone who was not alive as compared to the dates.
