OTT has now taken over almost all mobile screens and has become the most preferred option for the audience. The viewers are now more into the deeper narrative content rather than watching films in the theatres.
It seems that the audience nowadays is more involved in web series on different OTT platforms rather than watching three-hour-long films. On being asked about the inferences, Abhishek Bachchan said that people these days are aware of what they want to see and what will be more entertaining for them. He said that the industry is missing some essential parts that need to be reassured.
The actor pointed out an important topic why the films are failing horribly in the theatres. He mentioned that the filmmakers are counting money and focusing on the collections rather than building a strong profound base for the storyline.
He further added that people have grown to dislike content that they can’t relate with. The audience is well aware of whom they want to see it’s not like a few decades back when people only wanted to see someone particular on the screen. Today’s audience will not invest in something that is not worth their penny, and that is why Bollywood is failing on so many levels.
The filmmakers need to work on establishing the connection rather than putting their efforts into faces. The industry is only weighing out digits and not putting forward the audience’s choices.
Abhishek Bachchan’s OTT debut
The actor has joined the digital screen for some time now, with his debut performance on the OTT platform his presence in the series (Breath: Into the Shadows) was appreciated by the audience. The series was released on Amazon in 2020 and it was one of the most anticipated series of the year. The series is soon going to launch its second season with an amazing star cast including Abhishek Bachchan, R. Madhavan, Amit Sadh, and many more.Â
The actor said that “it’s been more than two years of the series and it has been a rollercoaster ride to work on the series, and I still can’t believe that the work went so well.”
The next season of the series will release on 9th November 2022 with a total of eight episodes produced by Vikram Malhotra. The story is based on a crime thriller suspense directed by Mayank Sharma.Â
The actor usually faces a lot of criticism regarding his family’s reputation and acting on screen. The actor is usually compared to his father Mr. Bachchan in terms of acting skills but he always seeks positivity and calmness in his life.Â
Recently the actor was seen promoting his series when he talked to the media about recent film failures. He also said that Bollywood should not compare itself with southern industry and should work on new branches of storylines that will attract the audience other than spending unnecessary digits on irrational things.
