After elections in 5 prominent states, the stage is set for upcoming Gujarat Polls. Amid all the planning, action and drama, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM)Â has announced its decision to contest the Gujarat Polls.
The announcement was made by AIMIM President, Asaduddin Owaisi himself on 9th June. He said that his party will contest in the upcoming Gujarat Polls.Â
In a press conference, the Hyderabad MP said that AIMIM will fight with their complete strength. But, they have not decided on the number of seats they will contest yet. The AIMIM Gujarat Chief, Sabir Kabliwala will decide on the number of seats to contest. At the same time, their candidate will contest from the Bhuj seat.
Preparations of AIMIM
He said that the AIMIM has already been preparing for the Gujarat elections. They have been planning and preparing after the municipal elections took place in the cities of Surat and Ahmedabad. Â
Meanwhile, the other main political parties set to compete in the Gujarat Assembly elections are Congress, BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party. The presence of the Aam Aadmi Party is special in the elections because it managed to score well in the Surat Municipal Corporation elections held last year. Interestingly, BJP won 93 seats and Aam Aadmi Party won 27 seats. But, Congress did not manage to secure a seat.Â
Along with the announcement, AIMIM President also called out the centre for the Communal Clashes held in Ranchi. The Communal Clashes have been triggered by the Controversial statements of the now expelled BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. Meanwhile, Jharkhand CM urged the people to stay away from Clashes and any kind of violence. Â
