Several users of the network service provider found themselves unable to make calls or access the internet during late morning hours on Friday. They took to social media to express their distress, only to discover that they weren’t alone on this issue. Airtel broadband and cellular activities were disrupted across the country, including the 4G network and Airtel Fiber. Some users complained about facing problems accessing the Airtel Thanks app and customer services as well.
The network outage seemed to have lasted only about 20 to 30 minutes for most users. Airtel confirmed that services were disrupted in a post on social media and apologized for the inconvenience caused to their users, stating that services were back up and running now. Many others mentioned that their services were not back up yet and tweeted at the official handles of the telecom company using the hashtag #AirtelDown which trended for several hours yesterday.
