Actor dons Lord Shiva’s avatar to ‘reflect on an important social issue. Akshay Kumar impressed everyone by playing Lord Krishna in OMG, and now he is all set to present Lord Shiva’s avatar for OMG 2.
Akshay Kumar has started shooting for Oh My God 2 (OMG 2) in Madhya Pradesh. The film also stars Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead roles.
Akshay Kumar is all set to speak about ‘relevant issues’ as he brings OMG 2. The actor said the film is an ‘honest and humble effort to reflect on an important social issue’.
Along with Akshay, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi will also be seen in essential roles in this film. Amit Rai is directing the film.
In the posters, he is seen donning Lord Shiva’s avatar. Sharing the posters on his verified Twitter and Instagram account, the actor wrote, “Karta kare na kar sake shiv kare so hoy’ Need your blessings and wishes for #OMG2, our honest and humble attempt to reflect on an important social issue.

Written and directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 is produced by Cape of Good Film, Vipul D Shah, Rajesh Bahl and Ashwin Varde.
The shooting of the film began in Ujjain’s Ramghat on October 21, claim media reports. They have a 17-day schedule to shoot in MP. Reportedly, the cast and crew of the film will be shooting at Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple, Ram Ghat, Kaal Bhairav temple and Tower Chowk in Ujjain.
The film will also be shot in the Mahakaleshwar temple complex of Ujjain. However, given the film’s shoot, the darshan system of the devotees will not be affected. The police force has also been deployed so that the devotees and the film unit face no issues.
About the Franchise-
The 2012 movie OMG: Oh My God! The masses appreciated Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles due to their unique plotline and impeccable performances.
Speculations were rife that the sequel to the same will soon go on floors in summer this year. However, this latest development surrounding the movie may excite the fans of the first film.
The sequel to the movie will now star Pankaj Tripathi in the lead role along with Akshay Kumar. Paresh Rawal will not be a part of the second movie. In the second movie, a source close to the development also revealed that Akshay would reprise his role as Lord Krishna.
The makers have been in talks with Tripathi for a long time, and the actor has given his green signal for the same now.
The makers are, however, being tight-lipped regarding the director of the movie. The source said that Umesh Shukla would not be directed, who helmed the first movie.
Akshay Kumar and Ashwin Varde will bankroll the sequel. The Phir Hera Pheri actor will start working after wrapping up his previous film, namely Ram Setu and Raksha Bandhan.
The OMG: Oh My God! The sequel is expected to go on floors in September with a schedule of 2 months. The source added that the pre-production phase of the same is in full swing.
The team is doing a location hunt to shoot the movie and is also considering designing a set for the same. The film is expected to wrap up by October if the schedule goes in time.
The film will also mark the second collaboration of Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi. The two have also shared the screen space in the movie Bachchan Pandey.
The source revealed that the actors have also struck a good chord while shooting for the same. They were talking about the movie OMG: Oh My God! It also starred Mithun Chakraborty, Om Puri and Tisca Chopra in pivotal roles.
