Alia Bhatt is one of the most successful star kids right now in the industry, and even the tiniest details of her life make it to the headlines.Â
Well, the news today isn’t a small detail but an achievement. Adding it to her bag of achievements, Alia Bhatt made it to the list of Variety’s International Impactful Women of 2024.
Variety’s list of Internationally Impactful Women of this year honors the amazing work done by women in show business and related arenas, and we appreciate the hard work done by them. The list is issued in celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8.
Other influential women on the list are Spanish singer Rosalia; Titilope Adesanya, Director of Operations, Africa, at the Indie Record Label Empire; and Creator, Executive Producer, and Writer, Abby Ajayi. Music executives: Jo Cherrington and Rebecca Allen; Chairwoman of Red Sea Film Festival and CEO of Saudi Research and Media Group, Jomana Alrashid; solo Latin artist, Annita; Emma Banks, Co-head at CAA; Lorna Clarke, Controller of Pop at the BBC; Irish actor, Kenny Condon, who is also in the nominations at the Oscars this year.
Women of Netflix’s Alice in Borderland—Yuri Tsunematsu, Aya Asahin, Tao Tsuchiya, Riisa Naka, and Ayaka Miyoshi; Women of Banijay; The Women of the Real Housewives of Dubai; The Women of the Real Housewives of Durban; and The Women of HBO’s hit show The House of Dragons—were also included in Variety’s list.Â
Alia Bhatt is the only Indian or Bollywood star on Variety’s list, and she is the only one to make the cut.
And we are not even shocked.
With 2022 as the most successful year of her professional and personal life, Alia is basically in her golden era.
With the success and worldwide recognition of her latest movie, Gangubhai kathiawada (2022), for which she even won the Dada Saheb Phalke Awards and a lot of love from around the world, Brahmastra: Part One “Shiva” was another success and did amazing at the box office. It was also Alia’s first movie with her husband, Ranbir Kapoor.
RRR was another major success for the actress, and the film has now received global recognition with its song “Nattu Nattu” being nominated at the Academy Awards for the Best Song Category this year.
She also worked on Netflix’s Darlings that year, which was the first venture under her own company, Eternal Sunshine Productions.
Alia also got married to her then-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in April 2022 and later delivered a baby girl on November 6 of that same year as well.
She also started her own line of maternity wear under her clothing company, EdMama. The company is named after her cat, Edward.
Alia debuted as a child when she was only 9 years old in the movie Sangharsh (1999) and later appeared in KJo’s Student of the Year when she was just 17.
She starred opposite Varun Dhawan and Siddarth Malhotra; all three of them debuted in the industry together in 2012.
Her other films were Imtiaz Ali’s Highway (2014), Chetan Bhagat’s 2 States and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, both in 2014, Shandaar (2015), Udta Punjab (2016), and Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi (2016).
Her other recognized work includes Raazi (2018), Kalank (2019), and the award-winning Gully Boy (2019).
The new mother is now collaborating with Karan Johar opposite Ranveer Singh for Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahani. Alia has recently flown to Kashmir with her mother, Soni Razdan, sister, Shaheen, and daughter, Raha, for the shoot of this film.
She is allegedly shooting while wearing a saree in the snow, which was a dream come true for Alia.
