Amish Tripathi is a name that every Indian reader recognizes. A best-selling author, he has penned down several well-loved works of literature including the Shiva trilogy and the Ram Chandra series. On Tuesday, Tripathi declared about the publication and launched his new book ‘War of Lanka’, considered to be the fourth book in the Ram Chandra series. He revealed that the publication of the book was put on pause due to the abrupt closing of the publishing house of his previously published books, the Westland Books.
He tweeted on May 17 expressing his sincere apologies to his readers regarding the delay in the publication of the fourth book in the Ram Chandra series, he stated that the closing down of the publication company, Westland Books was really a bad hit for the Indian readers and for the publication of the new book as well. He affirmed that he has signed the agreement with his new publisher and stated that the launch date for the book will be revealed soon.
Recently, in one of his interviews with the Telegraph India, the author revealed a small summary on the basis of which the book has been written. He stated that the book ‘ War of Lanka ‘ would see a befitting end with the demise of Ravana and the homecoming of Lord Rama to Ayodhya as has been observed in the traditional story of Ramayana.
“I aim to write a fifth book sometime later to give a sense of conclusion. This will be a multi-linear narrative. Every perspective sounds equally credible. A story runs on the shoulders of the characters. The three principal characters in Ramayana are Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Ravana but it essentially follows Rama’s journey,”
The Ram Chandra series and the Shiva trilogy series were very well received by the Indian readers and Amish Tripathi is well known for them. The Shiva trilogy saw the face of tremendous success and was the fastest-selling book series in the history of publishing in India followed by the Ram Chandra series, the second fastest selling series. The Ram Chandra series has previous three titles to itself and they are Ram: Scion of Ikshvaku, Sita: Warrior of Mithila, and Ravan: Enemy of Aryavarta.
He has currently been seen as the host of the mythological series ‘Legends of The Ramayana, which is currently streaming on the online streaming platform, Discovery+.
