Armaan Malik places himself at the top of the ranks in the music industry as he, yet again, secures a nomination spot at the MTV EMAs this year.
Armaan Malik: An Inspiration to Indian Musicians
Singer-Songwriter/Musician, Armaan Malik has made headlines for his achievement in the field of music. Gradually and steadily making his presence known across all corners around the world, Armaan Malik has been selected as a nominee for Best India Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards this year. On his Instagram account, Armaan Malik expressed his acknowledgement and posted that he “can’t control my excitement anymore…” and expressed his hope of bringing the trophy back home to India once again.
Armaan Malik is nominated for his latest hit single, You, under the Best India Act category. Along with Malik, another contender for the win is rapper Raja Kumari, who like Armaan Malik, is also of Indian descent.
This nomination, however, is not Armaan Malik’s first as he was presented with the privilege initially during the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Armaan Malik managed to take the win and scored his first ever MTV EMA 2020 for his hit international single, Control. The win has set Malik’s music career and guaranteed him the spotlight and the attention that he so clearly deserves. Malik conveyed his thankfulness for the nod and said that he was “elated” to have earned such an honour. In the interview, Malik stated, “The last time, I’d won the award for my debut single Control and it was such a massive career milestone for me!”. Continually, he said that he “hopes to make his fans, family and the country proud once again…”
The chivalrous musician also acknowledged and congratulated the other nominees under the category and wished goodwill to each one of them. He emphasises on how much of a huge deal this meant for both him and the other nominees in the category as well.
Born on 22 July 1995, Armaan Malik hails from the city of Mumbai, India. He is the son of Daboo Malik, who is a Bollywood director and composer and Jyothi Malik, his mother. He holds an impressive resume as he isn’t only a singer-songwriter but also happens to be a record producer, a voice-over performer, dancer and an actor. Adding more to his already amazing inherent capabilities, he is also multilingual and speaks about ten to twelve languages some of which are Hindi, English, Marathi and Tamil to name a few.
Malik’s passion and love for music started when he was an infant at the age of 4. In 2006, he was a contender at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs where he ranked 8th. Eventually, Malik acquired his first big gig in Bollywood as a child singer for the movie, Taare Zameen Par in 2007. Malik’s musical career intensified as the years progressed. He has worked on My Name Is Khan, voiced a character called Salim in the radio version of Slumdog Millionaire, but his major breakthrough was in 2014 when he made his debut as playback singer for the movie Jai Ho.
Armaan Malik’s remarkable and momentous feats in the following years include him singing Main Hoon Hero Tera for Hero, Tumhe Aapna Banane Ka for Hate Story 3. Malik was recognized for his musical ability and awarded the Filmfare R.D. Burman Award for New Music Talent in 2015.
Malik also sang for the films Baaghi, Mastizaade, Kapoor and Sons and many more in the year 2016. Malik has proven his vocal ability and consolidated his position as a singer and vocalist for films in Bollywood and he has been consistent with his performance in each and every song that he sang in movies.
Recently, Malik got into association with Arista Records for the song, You. The single is a huge smash hit and has provided Malik with the opportunity to once again be nominated at the MTV EMAs this year further advancing him to stardom and recognition.
Armaan Malik’s demonstration of hard work, devotion, talent and fervour for music has truly placed him high above the ranks and given a chance to make good music. He is seen as a musical confidante to many aspiring musicians. Malik has been able to shatter glass ceilings and discarded stereotyping by being one of the firsts and few musicians who trace their line of descent or lineage back to India; hence an Indian musician who has made his countrymen proud and paving the way for youngsters who want to become musicians.
