According to a school administrator, military-led government helicopters in Myanmar targeted a school and a surrounding community, killing 13 people, including 7 children.

“On 16 September, at least 11 children perished in an air strike and indiscriminate fire in residential areas,” UNICEF said in a statement released yesterday. The children’s agency further emphasized the need for schools to be secure and to never become the target of such assaults, while also claiming that at least 15 students from the same school are still unaccounted for and urging for their prompt return.
