About Tripura by-polls
The upcoming by-polls on 23rd will be crucial for BJP in Tripura. The elections will take place at 4 seats in Tripura; Agartala, Town Bardowali, Surma, and Jubarajnagar. There have been in total 22 candidates for the 4 seats. CM Manik Saha himself is one of the candidates.
Saha will be standing from Town Bordowali. He has recently been appointed the new CM of state last month, replacing his brother Biplab Deb.
The Election Commission had initially received 24 nominations. Soon the nomination by Neel Kamal Saha was rejected. On the other hand, the nomination by Rekha Sabar was withdrawn.
The new CM will be facing Congress’ popular candidate, Ashish Kumar Saha in Town Bordowali. Left’s candidate here is Raghunath Sarkar.
