Actor Kishor Das who worked on a score of Assamese Television shows passed away on Sunday after losing the battle with cancer for a year. He was 30 years old. Since March of this year, Kishor was receiving treatment for Cancer at a Chennai Hospital. According to the official reports, Kishor was also suffering from a COVID-19 infection at the time of his passing away.
The last rites will be done in Chennai. However, due to strict COVID-19 restrictions, his body could not be sent back to his hometown in Kamrup in Assam.
Actor Kishor Das was one of the most famous faces in the entertainment industry in Assam. Kishor had a very flourishing career. He was immensely loved by his fans for his wonderful performances.
In addition to his roles in TV shows, he also delivered and performed several popular songs. ‘Turut Turut’ was one of the most popular songs that garnered him the love from his Assamese fans. It became his most super hit song in Assam. He was last seen working in the film ‘Dada Tumi Dusto Bor‘ which hit the theaters on June 24 of this year.
In 2019, he was awarded the Candid Young Achievement award. He was very close to his fans and would often interact with them through his social media accounts. His unfortunate demise has left an indelible mark on the Assamese film industry. His heartbroken fans took to social media to pay their tributes to the late actor.
Keshab Mahanta, Minister of Health and Family Welfare expressed his condolences over the unfortunate demise of the actor. He expressed his condolences to the actor’s bereaved family and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
