Delhi BJP chief demanded that Aurangzeb Lane be renamed as Dr. APJ Abdul kalam lane, Humayun road as Maharshi Valmiki road, Shahjahan Road as general Bipin Rawat Road.
On 19th May (Thursday) A signboard of Aurangzeb Lane in Delhi was defaced by BJYM (Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha ) as they pasted a banner over the signboard that read ‘Baba Vishwanath Marg.’
The BJP president Vasu Rukhar Explain that the Morcha demands that Aurangzeb Lane be renamed at the earliest or the workers will take it to the streets. Many BJYM officers were present When the banner over the signboard was placed.
They said that they did so as Aurangzeb killed lakhs of Hindus and they cannot stand a road named after some so brutal, “It’s shameful to have a road named after him.” They (BJYM) demand the Kejriwal government to change all such roads and public places that are named after Mughal leaders who hurt Hindus.
BJYM State general secretary Sandeep Sehrawat, state Vice President kamal Bagri, state minister Nitesh Rajput, and office mining Arjun Vilotil Were all pressing during this incident. All of the mentioned ministers are influential members of the party.
One of the senior officials of the Delhi municipal council said that action would be taken against the people included in the act under the Delhi defacement act. He even mentioned that when the civic body team arrived there was no sign of damage or posters to be found.
The DCP Amrutha Guguloth said that the signboard was noticed by one of the patrolling staff, he removed it immediately and a case under Section 3 of the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act was registered.
Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta asked for Aurangzeb Lane to be renamed as Dr. APJ Abdul kalam lane, Humayun road as Maharshi Valmiki road, Shahjahan Road as general Bipin Rawat Road.
Though this is not the first time a situation like this had occurred in 2020 during the Call ram mandir Ram mandir debate a former union minister defaced the Barber Road signboard and demanded that. It should be called 5 August Marg instead.
No complaint has been submitted to the NDMC yet, but when it does the appropriate action would be taken on the issue after having a detailed study and knowledge of the whole incident in detail.
