On 17 March 2024, Friday, India recorded a rise of 796 coronavirus infections and the active cases surpassed over 5000 after 109 days reported to Union Health Ministry data. The total number of cases of covid till now is 4.46 crore, where the death toll has been increased to 5.30 crore with five fatalities, it was updated at 8am.
