India reported 1,938 new Covid cases in a 24-hour period, slightly more than the previous day’s total of 1,778. 67 deaths were also reported during the same period, bringing the total to 5,16,672, according to the Union health ministry on Thursday morning.Â
According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate is 0.29 percent and the weekly positivity rate is 0.35 percent. COVID-19 recovery rates at the national level were reported to be 98.75 percent.Â
Rajesh Bhushan, the health secretary, has written to states and union territories emphasizing the critical nature of continuing to implement and monitor necessary measures to avoid losing the gains made thus far in the fight against coronavirus.Â
Additionally, the country reported 2,531 recoveries in a single day. The number of people who have recovered from the disease has increased to 4,24,75,588, with a 1.20 percent case fatality rate.Â
 In a 24-hour period, the active Covid-19 caseload was reduced by 660 cases. Additionally, the ministry stated that active cases account for 0.05 percent of total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate is 98.75 percent.Â
On Thursday at 8 a.m., the cumulative doses administered as part of the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive surpassed 182.23 crore.Â
In the last 24 hours, a total of 6,61,954 Covid-19 tests were conducted in the country, bringing the total to over 78.49 crore.Â
