Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is all set to tie the knot with Dr. Gurpreet Kaur on the 7th of July, Thursday. The marriage ceremony will take place at the Chandigarh residence of the Chief Minister, this is the second time the Punjab Chief Minister is getting married.
Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, will be tying the knot with Dr. Gurpreet Kaur on Thursday, July 7 in a private ceremony in Chandigarh. Aravind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, the Chief Minister of Delhi and his deputy, will also attend the function. The mother of Chief Minister Mann has also reached the CM’s residence from her native village to attend the marriage ceremony of her son.
Mann Sahab is getting married in a private ceremony here tomorrow. He will tie the knot with Dr Gurpreet Kaur, “Aam Aadmi Party’s senior leader Malvinder Singh told PTI. His first marriage ended six years ago, and his first wife, along with both children, stayed in America. Both children of Mann were present when he was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Punjab.
According to sources, Mann’s to-be wife, Dr Gurpreet Kaur, was chosen by Mann’s mother, Harpal Kaur, and his sister, Manpreet Kaur. Mann’s sister, Manpreet Kaur, played a key role in the Chief Minister’s campaign and she was the only person from his family who took an active part in Mann’s campaign.
Who is Gurpreet Kaur?
Dr Gurpreet Kaur (30) is a doctor by profession. She did her MBBS from Maharishi Markandeshwar University at Mullana in Ambala district in 2018. She is the youngest one in the family, and her two older sisters are settled in Australia and Canada, respectively. Kaur’s family originally hails from Haryana’s Pehowa town, but the family is now settled in Rajpura in Punjab.
How did the two meet?
Gurpreet first came into contact with Bhagwant Mann’s family a year and a half ago. The bride’s family didn’t want her to enter politics, but things may have changed after marriage. Dr. Kaur was impressed by Mann because of his courage and ability to take courageous decisions for the state. Dr Gurpreet is also fond of Mann’s stand-up comedy.
