Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary has stepped ahead of his competitors in the political race. Recently, he met the BJP’s National President, JP Nadda. The BJP is trying to make a balance in the regions and casts in the state. The BJP may soon announce his name as the new state president of Uttar Pradesh.Ā
Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary may become the next president of the UP BJP. Currently, he is a cabinet minister in Yogi Adityanathās government. On Wednesday, Bhupendra Singh met the national president of the BJP, JP Nadda. After the meeting, everyone is eager to know about the meeting and the discussions are on. It is believed that the BJP may announce his name as the new state president on Thursday. Bhupendra comes from a āJattā family in southern UP. Through Bhupendra Singh, the BJP is bidding to balance the castes and regions in Uttar Pradesh.
Met JP Nadda in Delhi
Sources inform us that National BJP president JP Nadda called Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary to Delhi for a meeting. On receiving JP Naddaās message, he rushed to Delhi from Azamgarh. The BJP’s national president has now agreed for him to take charge of the state. He will be replacing Swatantra Dev Singh as the state president.
The BJP wants a politician from the southern UP to take charge of the state and become the new state president of Uttar Pradesh, keeping in mind the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. CM Yogi comes from the western UP region. And giving the stateās charge to a politician from the southern UP will be the BJP’s strategy to make the regional balance benefit its vote bank. Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary tends to be the most efficient politician for the Jat vote bank in southern UP. Thus, it will help the BJP to make a regional and caste balance in the state.
The BJP Plans to Target Southern UP (New State President of Uttar Pradesh)
By making Bhupendra Singh the state president, the BJP tends to weaken the alliance of RLD-SP in the southern UP region. In the last election, the areas with fewer votes for the BJP were Saharanpur to Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, Amroha, Bareilly, and Rampur in Southern UP. Chaudhary comes from the same region. Thus, it’s almost final for him to take charge of Up as the state president. This is BJPās strategy to gain the Jatt vote bank.
Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary is believed to be close to the national party president, Yogi Adityanath. He is in the service of RSS for a very long time now. So, bringing forward a Jatt politician will not only help the BJP to gain back the support of the Jatt community, which it lost due to the farmer’s protest. Also, the BJP will make itself strong in the southern UP region.
Politicians Who Were in Que to Be the State President
For the last five months, there has been a state of confusion about the BJPāS new state president. But no name has been finalized yet for the post. Though, after Keshav Prasad Mauryaās tweet āAlliance is bigger than Government”, he has been in discussions to be the new state president. Other than that, BL Verma was nominated as the OBC face for the party.
Aside from Keshav Prasad Maurya, the BJP is also thinking about bringing forward general and SC/ST politicians. From the Brahmin community, the names of Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay, MP Satish Gautam, Subrata Pathak, Shrikant Sharma, Dinesh Sharma, and State Vice President Vijay Bahadur Pathak were included.
In 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019, the UPās state presidents faced were from the Brahmin Community. Due to this pattern of the BJP, speculations were being made to make the state president from the Brahmin community. At the same time, there was a lot of discussion on the names of Union Ministers of State, Bhanu Pratap Verma, Ram Shankar Katheria, and Vidyasagar Sonkar as Dalit faces.
