On Sunday 18th December 2022 it was officially announced by Bigg Boss in “Ravivaar ka Vaar” that the season got an extension.
About Bigg Boss 16
The premiere of Bigg Boss 16 was hosted by Salman Khan on October 1st, 2022. Bigg Boss 16 is aired on Colors tv from Monday to Sunday as follows (Monday to Friday at 10 pm), (Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 pm).
There are 16 Participants in the show (Sajid Khan, Abdu Rozik, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Priyanka Choudhary, MC Stan, Archana Gautam, Shiv Thakare, Gautam Vig, Tina Dutta, Shalin Bhanot, Ankit Gupta, Sumbul Khan, Dr. Soundarya Sharma, Gori Nagori, Sreejita De and Manya Singh).
However, Manya Singh and Gautam Vig have officially been eliminated from the show. Vikas Manaktala is a wild card entry along with ex-constant Sreejita who had been evicted and re-entered again as a wild card.
Abdu Rozik had to be temporarily eliminated from the show due to some professional commitments and he will re-enter back in the show soon.
Bigg Boss 16 unique format
Since the premiere of Bigg Boss 16, the show has started gaining immense popularity due to its unprecedented format and the theme this year is Circus.
A lot of changes were seen in the format from the beginning and the first blow for the fans was replacing the “wake up song” with a “wake up anthem” in which the contestants are seen singing the Bigg Boss anthem in the morning.
However, this season is very unique apart from the rest and fans are going GAGA as there are no aggressive tasks given to the contestants unlike other seasons and the fights taking place in the house are very organic.
The most interesting feature of this season is “Bigg Boss” himself interacting and mocking the contestants from time to time and this is a never seen avatar of Bigg Boss. More than a mentor, unlike other seasons Bigg Boss is more like a friend to the contestants of this unique season.
There is also a new shift seen in the weekend ka vaar this year, in the earlier seasons the weekend ka vaar used to be aired on Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 pm whereas this year the weekend ka vaar is aired on Friday at 10:00 pm and Saturday at 9:00 pm.
This is also the first season of Bigg Boss where there are 16 contestants in the house after 3 months. Vikas Manaktala is the only wildcard entry in the season so far as a new face and another is the ex-contestant Sreejita De who reentered the house after being eliminated once.
Bigg Boss 16 Extension officially announced
After all the twists and turns on the “Shanivar ka vaar” be it from the rumors of Sajid Khan getting eliminated from Abdu Rozik leaving the house on Saturday for professional reasons, the fans had enough drama. On Sunday 18th December 2022 in the Sunday “Ravivar ka Vaar” episode Bigg Boss himself announced that the season has got an extension by 4 weeks upon which the contestants and fans were delighted.
The show has captivated fans for a duration of 3 months already and Bigg Boss has given yet another positive news and announced that the finale of the show which was supposed to take place on 12th January 2024 will now take place on 12th February 2024.
During the episode of “Ravivaar ka Vaar,” Shekhar Suman also shared the good news with the contestants and greeted them with wishes for the journey ahead.
The reason for the extension of the show is due to its magnificent TRP.
However, the extension is given to many seasons in the past but the most memorable ever season of Bigg Boss is Bigg Boss 13 which got an extension due to immense popularity after which the new ongoing season of Bigg Boss 16 is all set to create history with the unique format and the never seen avatar of Bigg Boss.
BB Fans are all ready to get hooked on their favorite contestants till the finale on 12th February 2024.
