Amongst a political fight between Union Minister Narayan Rane and Shiv Sena, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has proclaimed a notice to check the minister’s house in Juhu for conducting inspection and measurements to inspect illegal construction.
BMC issue notice to Union minister Rane
On Thursday, a notice signed by the designated officer of the K-West ward (Andheri west) was proclaimed to the owner/occupier under section 488 of Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) Act, 1888. The notice further informed that on Friday, a team of K-west ward and Building Proposal department would pay a visit to inspect the bungalow and verify the complaint of illegal constructions at Adhish Bungalow at Juhu Tara Road.
BMC said that an official from a notice was issued to keep all the documents ready regarding the construction and location of the bungalow.
At the same time, the K-west ward also issued another letter to the Building Proposal department to send their staff for inspection.
BMC came into action after activist Santosh Daundhkar filed a Right To Information (RTI). It was a reminder complaint claiming that the BMC did not take any action on his prior complaints regarding the illegal construction of the bungalow.
Daundkar claimed that he had filed a complaint from the day the bungalow started construction as per the Coastal Regulations Zone (CRZ) norms. The activists have reported that the bungalow was built within 50 meters of the sea, and it violates the CRZ rules.
BMC officials said that after completing the inspection of the bungalow if they find any unauthorized construction. At that time, they will issue another notice, giving them a specified time to prove the legality of the bungalow.
An Official from BMC said,
“If they fail to provide legal documents, then demolition action will occur.”
Lately, Rane held a press conference and attacked Sena and Sanjay Raut. Even though repeated attempts, BJP’s MLA Nitesh Rane and Union Minister Narayan Rane were not ready for any comments.
