The Armed conflict has been charging between Israel and Palestinians armed groups in the Gaza Strip, between 10^th May and 21^st May.

It was the fifth Israel- Gaza conflict in 15 years. There had been unleashed, constant attacks and air strikes on Gaza which were witnessed by Palestinians in central Gaza city.

The murder rate involving citizens of Israel was proportionally 25 times higher than cases involving Jewish citizens of Israel, who constitute about 80% of the population also, criminals skilled 110 Palestinian citizens of Israel in 2021, the highest number in decades.

Conflicts with Israel and Palestinian armed groups entailed war crimes and possible crimes against humanity. The reckless strikes and frequent bombings by Israeli forces killed 242 Palestinians in Gaza.

Attacks By Israel

It included targeted strikes on medical facilities and personnel. Israel, therefore, maintained its illegal blockade on the Gaza Strip, inflicting punishment on residents and exacerbating the humanitarian crisis there, and Palestinians’ freedom of movement was arbitrarily restricted in the West Bank.

Israel authorities subjected Palestinians to forced evictions, arbitrary detention, torture and other I’ll- treatment, all committed with almost total impunity.

During the armed conflict in May, Israel committed frequent war crimes and possible crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip. On 10^th May, Israel bombed the seawater desalination plant in north Gaza, cutting water supplies to more than 2,50,000 people until it was temporarily repaired on 23rd May.

Around midnight of 14^th May, Israeli air strikes hit the Al-Atar family building in Beit Lahia city, killing Lamya al- Atar and her three children aged between 8 months and seven years. Then Israeli missiles hit medical facilities and killed medical personnel.

On 16^th May, a tax had been launched without warning in the al-Wehda district of Gaza City killing doctor Ayman Abu al-Ouf, director of the covid -19 response and head of internal medicine at Al- Shifa hospital, Gaza’s main hospital.

A senior commander of a Palestinian armed group and six children had been killed in Gaza Strip as Israeli jets continued their bombing.

There was a sudden attack such as the houses getting bombed and everything became black and dusty with smoke in the blink of an eye. Another air attack destroyed a car killing a 75-year-old woman and wounding 6 other people.

Israeli fighter jets dropped two bombs on the house of an alleged Islamic jihad member. More than 400 rockets were launched on Israel’s most intercepted setting off air raid sirens and sending people running to bomb shelters. There were no reports of serious casualties, the Israeli ambulance service stated that so far.

Destruction So Far

Israel had been warned that its campaign against Islamic jihad could last a week and its attack on Gaza has destroyed apartments buildings and struck refugee camps. At least 4 children were killed in the blast close to the Jabalia refugee camp. 

According to Hamas, the group that governs Gaza Strip. It blamed Israel for the deaths, but the military denied any responsibility saying the explosion was caused by a failed rocket launched by Islamic jihad.

The violence has raised fears of another war on Gaza by Israel, just 15 months after a monthlong conflict that killed more than 260 people. Palestinian fighters have responded to the bombings by launching more than 400 rockets at Israel.

Most of the rockets were intercepted, and there have been no reports of serious casualties according to the Israeli ambulance service.

The last war caused widespread devastation here in Gaza Strip. A year later there has been almost no reconstruction.

This isolated coastal territory is impoverished, its people are barely recovering and many fear another round of escalation. Also according to various reports several people have lost their lives in the attack including a large population of children.

Moreover, the Israeli authorities demolished buildings in the OPT, including East Jerusalem, making more than, 1000 Palestinian residents, homeless. Apart from this, the Palestinians were governed through oppression and domination. They faced routine and systematic discrimination and human rights violations.

Palestinians in Israel were prosecuted under incitement laws. Recently, A blast in Jabaliain the northern Gaza Strip has killed five Palestinians, also dozens of rockets have been launched from the Palestinian armed wings, targeting Israeli cities.
