“Jurassic World Dominion” has made its way to the top of the charts, by earning a mammoth $143 million in its debut at the box office.
In spite of the searing reviews by critics, the sixth film in ‘The Jurassic Park’ franchise has been winning the hearts of the viewers at the box office. According to Comscore, this is the third time in the pandemic that the world is witnessing collective ticket sales peaking at the mark of $200 million. The ticket sales of the popular “Top Gun: Maverick,” has added to the mark, still making fans go gaga over the movie.
Even with the crushing weight of “Jurassic World” raging at the box office. Tom cruise’s blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick” has strongly held to its position, earning over $50 million in its third weekend at the box office. It is already being considered a humongous turnout as its theatrical runs continue amidst times when “Dominion” is also rising steadily as a box office favorite.
Upon comparing, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” earned $56 million in its third week of screening, while “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” earned a total of $32 million in the third week, and Robert Pattinson starrer “The Batman” earned $36 million in its third week. Between Friday and Saturday, “Top Gun: Maverick” collected over $393.3 million even though a 44% decline has been seen.
The Initial box office collection for “Dominion” shows a bit of a decline in its popularity even though currently, it is earning huge amounts of money. The latest installment in ‘The Jurassic Park‘ franchise has huge expectations to meet since its predecessors were top box office hits becoming cult classics in their own rights. The Jurassic Park trilogy was rebooted as “Jurassic World” movies and they kick-started their earnings with a staggering $208 million and completed their theatrical runs with a whopping $1.6 billion globally. Its 2018’s sequel “Fallen Kingdom,” debuted at a remarkable $150 million and earned $1.3 billion worldwide.
