As BTS and BTS members continues to make history in music. After, Jimin topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart with ‘Like Crazy’ in early April. Jungkook with his debut ‘seven’ has now become the second member of the group to top the chart.
Jungkook is the youngest one among the members of BTS. When he got to know about his song being topped on Billboard Hot 100 he shared his reaction with his fans too. Earlier this month on July 6st, 2023, he released his solo single Seven, which was featured alongside with actor Han So-hee. Han So-hee is known for her famous k-dramas such as, The World of the Married, Nevertheless and My Name. The music video also featured rapper Latto in it.
On Monday, July 24th, Billboard shared the chart of Hot 100 on their Instagram account and wrote, ‘The #Hot100 top 10 (chart dated July 29, 2023)’. Billboard also posted that Jungkook not just topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart but also launches at No.1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. This achievement of him made him the first solo Asian artist who topped all the 3 charts simultaneously.
By looking at the success of his song Jungkook left as message on ‘Weverse’ which is a platform for all global fans to connect with their favorite idols. He left a simple message but using a powerful word, “Let’s go Higher.”
After Jimin being the first K-pop solo singer to top the Hot 100 with his song ‘Like Crazy’, Jungkook has now achieved the same mark by being the second K-pop artist to top the chart of Billboard Hot 100.
After both the BTS members (Jimin and Jungkook) top the No.1 position on the Hot 100, BTS has now joined the legendary groups whose members in the history have achieved top position on Hot 100 chart as soloist such as the members of group Black Eyed Peas, Destiny’s Child and The Beatles too.
While the maknae of the group (BTS) achieved such a huge success his hyungs (elder group members) also expressed their excitement of seeing their maknae achieve so much. Jimin and RM shared a post on Instagram, where it was noted that Jimin posted Jungkook’s poster of Billboard and captioned it with several emojis. Whereas the leader of the group RM (Kim Namjoon) shared the post shared by Jimin on his Instagram story without writing any caption on it. Later, he shared a story in which it was seen that several mosquitos have bitten him on his leg, and he wrote that, “Mogiboard (Mogi means mosquito in Korean language) on Hot 100 No.1.
Jungkook also shared few things related to his solo ‘Seven’, He said that he was nervous and thrilled for his solo and to ease it out he started doing some vocal exercises which he discovered using a straw. He also did several research on improving his vocal and tried new methods of it.
Jungkook is very happy about the success of his solo and he wants his song to go and achieve more success all around the Globe.
