Global South Korean group, BTS is coming back to perform in Busan later this year and the fans are beyond excited.
BTS, the Korean pop sensation, will perform in Busan in October to support the southern port city’s bid to host the World Expo in 2030. Hybe signed a memorandum of understanding with the Busan city government in late June to collaborate on its successful bid. The planned concert will be the band’s first performance in South Korea since its Permission to Dance on a Stage show in Seoul in March.
The Busan Metropolitan City Government and BTS’s agency HYBE signed an MOU on the morning of the 24th to work together on the upcoming 2030 Busan World Expo. In addition, BTS will actively participate by taking pictures and videos for online marketing campaigns and sharing them on their Social networking sites. Busan Mayor, HYBE’s Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk, and BIGHIT MUSIC’s CEO Park Jiwon attended the signing ceremony.
Recently, BTS released PROOF, an anthology that contained unreleased demos and songs. With this release, the group concluded its first chapter and began its second, with the members concentrating on their solo careers. So far, Jungkook has collaborated with Charlie Puth on a single, and V attended Paris Fashion Week with PARK Bogum and Lisa. In advance of his upcoming album “Jack In The Box” which will be available on July 15, 2022, J-Hope pre-released ‘More‘ from the album.
There have been bids submitted by South Korea, Russia, Italy, Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia. It is expected that the final winner will be announced in November 2024. Apart from the World Cup and the Olympics, the World Expo is one of the largest international festivals, overseen by the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE). The most recent World Expo was held in Dubai, which ran from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 2022. The next one is scheduled for Osaka, Japan, which will be held from 13th April to 13th October 2025.
While there was a lot of confusion surrounding BTS’s hiatus and fans’ inability to see them together again for some time, here’s yet another big announcement for the BTS fans aka ARMY to celebrate over.Â
