Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Aravind Kejriwal criticized the Narendra Modi government on Sunday over the recent clash between Indian and Chinese forces in the Tawang region of Arunachal Pradesh and asked the center to show “some courage and respect” for the nation’s warriors.
While speaking at the party’s National Council, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated that even though Chinese aggression at the border is escalating, the BJP-led Centre claims that “everything is alright.”
The AAP leader also mentioned the Tawang incident, where the Indian military managed to prevent the battle. He stated that China has been threatening India for the last five years. Some of our soldiers have even sacrificed themselves in their brave fight against the Chinese.
He said that despite many Indian soldiers risking their lives in the battle against Chinese forces, the Modi government is “rewarding Beijing” by allowing large quantities of imports from the nation instead of “punishing” it. “Don’t you have any respect for our soldiers? Show some courage. China will come to its senses if India stops imports,” he added.
Giving specifics, the Delhi CM stated that China contributed approximately 65 billion dollars in imports in 2020–21 and 95 billion dollars in 2021–22 from India. “China will learn a lesson the day we stop importing 95 billion dollars,” he remarked.
The Delhi CM cited that India’s industrial capabilities need to be improved. I don’t see why the BJP and the Centre can’t treat China harshly. From China, we are importing clothing, glasses, and shoes.
He also advised the country to boycott Chinese goods. “China is said to produce cheap goods. Even if Chinese goods are cheap, we do not desire them. Even if the price of things produced in India is double what it is now”, he added.
Kejriwal also criticized the central government for growing unemployment and inflation in the country, claiming that it was not trying to help the general public.
He claimed that people are tired of unemployment and rising inflation under the BJP government at the center. It is possible to control inflation while also creating employment, as the Delhi AAP administration has shown. With an inflation rate of 4.7%, Delhi has the lowest inflation in India. Neither the BJP nor the national government has responded to Kejriwal’s comments as of yet.
He said that the AAP would be the reason India would change and become a country wherein disputes over caste and religion will not exist. Strong patriotism, a dedication to honesty, and humanity are the three pillars of AAP’s ideology and they drive the party’s zeal to serve the people.
Mentioning the Gujarat assembly election, Kejriwal claimed that AAP is the only party to become a national party within 10 years of its formation. “We will form a government in Gujarat in 2027.”
