On Friday, British defence secretary Ben Wallace while addressing the media portal talked about the involvement of China in the Ukraine-Russia crisis.
He was asked about the notion of China in resolving the Ukraine-Russia crisis.
The statement comes after a series of allegations made by western countries especially the USA on their involvement and support of Russia.
China desired result would be to bring peace to the world
While addressing the media portal the British defence secretary talked about the involvement of China in supplying weapons to Russia. The British defence secretary said that the supplying of weapons to Russia through China will not bring an end to the conflict.
While saying that he added China is not looking for war. He sounded confident while saying that China wants peace. China’s desired outcome is peace for the two nations and also the world.
He criticised Russia’s aggressive actions and invasion of Ukraine. He said that the supply of weapons from China to Russia did not respect the international law and sovereignty of the other nations. This will not bring the desired peace that China wants.
Britain has a clear stand over the Russia-Ukraine issue. The UK has also released new sanctions against Russia. The Defence Secretary said that they will be supplying Typhoon fighter jets to Ukraine in some time.
This also marks the one year of the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
The USA made one serious claim against China at the international forum Munich Security Conference in Germany.
Earlier this month the USA alleged that China on involved with Russia in supplying weapons.
At the Munich Security Conference, the USA alleged that they are thinking of supplying Lethal assistance to Russia. The USA warns China about their help to Russia. This would later lead to severe consequences.
Joe Biden’s administration also reacted to the spy balloons and Chain’s aggressive actions. The US secretary of state canceled his trip to Beijing after the shooting down of China’s spy balloon in American territory.
UK’s stance on the conflict
Earlier this month, the two countries’ leaders Volodymyr Zelensky and Rishi Sunak met for the first time. The leaders discussed future planning and support to solve the crisis.
Prime minister Rishi Sunak announced his plan on expanding military aid. The plan included increasing military training of the armed forces of Ukraine. The plan also included supplying fighter jets and marines as military equipment. This was a surprise visit of Volodymyr Zelensky to the UK.
As per rumours are going around that Rishi Sunak will address the other nation’s leaders to supply weapons and military aid during the G7 meeting.
NATO leaders on Russia – Ukraine crisis
During the Munich Security conference also, Rishi Sunak was clear on its stance of NATO countries to help Ukraine to fight. He also asked for supplying of required weapons from the NATO countries. The military should be doubled. He also said that This is the time to show Russia that we are not scared.
While the other NATO countries were supportive of Ukraine but also careful in supplying of weapons. This could also accelerate the conflict. No nation wants to take the risk of attacks or invasions.
Overall, Ukraine has been receiving support from all ends of NATO countries.
