The Chinese aircraft scheduled for Kunming crashed with 132 passengers with no survivors recorded.The Chinese eastern MU 5735 crashed along the mountains of Southern China on Monday, 21st March 2022.
The aeroplane suffered a sudden decrease in cruising altitude. It carries 132 passengers in total inclusive of the staff. The plane was scheduled to travel from Guangzhou to Kunming.The flight MU5736 was a part of the Chinese Eastern Airlines. It took off from the airport at 1:11 P.M.
The Flight was scheduled to land at Kunming at 15:05 The tower kept contact with the airline until it lost it around 5:14 P.M. The plane was last located around the city of Wuzhou when it lost contact with China’s Civil Aviation Administration and the Chinese Western Airline.
The website FlightRadar provided the media with technical information about the aircraft. It was operating at an altitude of 29,100 feet. This speed was recorded around 0620 GMT. The final descending speed of the aircraft stood around 31,000 feet a minute. It was also discovered to be just six years old into functioning as a commercial aircraft.
The Chinese Eastern Airlines received the delivery of the MU 5735 back in June 2015.The crash was observed after the video of the same was provided by the local villagers. It was circulated among the mainstream media by CGTN officials. The crash also witnessed the immediate dispatch of the firefighters.
In addition to this, the local villagers also attempted to assist the rescuing party. There were no signs or records of survivors of the crash by the media. The crash took place in Southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. There were no foreigners involved.
The crash had economic effects on the aviation commercial market. A dip in the shares of Boeing Co was observed. It was recorded at 6.4% at $180.44 in trade for the premarket. The Indian carriers that possessed the Boeing 737 were put under special surveillance by Arun Kumar, DGCA Chief.
The sudden hypervigilance was because several Indian carriers contained Boeing 737 as fleets. Airlines like Spicejet, Vistara and Air India all existed with a Boeing 737 fleet. “Deeply shocked and saddened to learn about the crash of the passenger flight MU5735 with 132 onboard in China’s Guangxi. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the crash and their family members.” Said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a statement released post the crash.
However, crashes that involve Chinese airlines are very rare in the aviation commercial market. The top three countries encompassing the best air travel include China, along with North America and Europe. “We are shocked to learn of the Chinese eastern MU5735 accident,” said President Xi Jinping. He also issues an immediate investigation into the crash and ensured the utmost aviation safety during the procedure.
There have been barely any incidents or fatalities since the crashes of the 1990s and 2000s. Post that period, China had upgraded their safety protocols in the commercial aviation gambit. The prominent crashes that have taken place in Chinese commercial airline history were during 2010, with 42 fatalities recorded post the crash. The plane ha crashed in the Heilongjiang province. In 2018, Lion Air Flight with Boeing 737 max fleet crashed.
Furthermore, an Ethiopian airline with the same fleet crashed back in 2019. The Boeing 737 max was banned across the world after witnessing the crashes. However, the Chinese Eastern airlines operated encompassing regular Boeing 737-89P. The aircraft did not belong to the Mac family.The fatalities were also confirmed by the China Eastern. They released a statement expressing their deepest condolences.
