Class 12 student reported dead in the Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. This appears to be the fourth case in the month in the state.
Another case of suicide of a school girl occurred on Monday night in the Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu.
As reported by the officials the girl was feeling depressed after appearing for a monthly basis exam on Monday in which she didn’t perform well.
The incident took place when the girl was alone at home. The family when returned home late, noticed that the girl didn’t step out of her room for a long time. They opened her room with the assistance of a few neighbors, and her body was discovered there.
She was a student in a private school and her monthly basis exams were going on.
The 17-year-old was immediately rushed to a private hospital where the doctors declared her dead already.
The police sent out the body for post-mortem. A case was filed in accordance with Criminal Procedure Code Section 174 (police to probe and report on suicide).
The police found a suicide note as well, that she took the action because of her poor performance in the monthly Tamil test on Monday which compelled her, she stated this in the note.
Cases over the past month
An 18-year-old student died of suicide on July 6 in Krishnagiri district, purportedly as a result of finding the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) challenging to score well on.
A student in Class XII committed suicide on July 12 in the dormitory of a private school in the Kallakurichi district. This incident set the protests, the protestors damaged the school’s building.
Another recent case was of a 17-year-old who was discovered dead on July 25 in the dorm of a government-funded institution in the Tiruvallur district.
With the recent case of Monday turns out to be the fourth case of the month.

The CM Stalin stated that educational institutions should behave like one and not as businesses. They should boost the self-confidence of the students and not promote suicide. He was saddened by the current situation of the state. The students of the state should be both physically and mentally strong.
