According to a release from the ISRO, Pacheco expressed his happiness with the current space collaboration under the India-Colombia Memorandum of Understanding inked in September 2021. Columbia Asks India For Assistance In Utilizing Space Technology
The space technology agency reported that the ambassador expressed Colombia’s desire to secure India’s assistance for utilising Space tech for national development.
Somanath expressed ISRO’s willingness to provide all necessary assistance in creating capacity by educating representatives of user Ministries in Colombia and constructing the necessary infrastructure to exploit satellite data for a variety of purposes.
According to ISRO, potential areas of collaboration include “Building and launching of satellites for Colombia through Indian space entities and reception of satellite data in Colombia for real-time applications were also discussed as potential areas of collaboration.”
