Darya dugina Daughter of a close ally to Putin killed in a car bombing, Ukraine is suspected behind the attack.
On Saturday night, Darya Dugina, a 29-year-old political scientist was killed in a massive car bombing near
Bolshiye Vyazemy village, on the outskirts of Moscow.
Who is Alexander Dugina
He is the father of Darya Dugina, the Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin, also known as “Putin’s brain”
behind the Russian invasion of Crimea in 2014, who may have been the intended target of this attack.
Mr. Dugin is a prominent ultra-nationalist ideologue who is believed to be close to the Russian president.
He served as the former chief editor of Tsargrad tv and currently holds no official position in Putin’s government.
What have been the events
Both Mr. Dugin and Darya had been at a festival near Moscow, where the philosopher gave a lecture on Saturday evening.
They both were supposed to leave in the same car when Darya decided to leave separately at the last minute.
Footage of Mr. Dugin shows him watching in shock as emergency services arrive at the scene of the accident.
Investigators gave the information that an explosive device was planted under the car, which went off and the vehicle caught fire.
Ukrainian involvement is also being investigated, but Ukrainian official has dismissed accusations of Ukrainian involvement in the accident.
“Ukraine, of course, has nothing to do with this, because we are not a criminal state, which is the Russian Federation, and even less a terrorist state,” said Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Car bombings and assassinations have come down and Putin has brought security and stability to Russia
these are some claims of kremlin propaganda but the recent events undermine these narratives.
In an interview with Geopolitika in march this year, she described herself as a political observer of the
international Eurasianist movement. She has also made appearances on Indian and Pakistani channels as a European geopolitical analyst.
When asked about her views on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, she dubbed it as a ‘clash of civilizations”.
Darya blamed the United States for provoking the entire conflict and supply of weapons to Ukraine.
