An official said a 17-year-old boy’s body was discovered tucked inside a travel bag in Delhi‘s Mangolpuri neighborhood on Friday morning. The deceased was a Rohini Sector 1 inhabitant of Delhi.Â
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sameer Sharma, a PCR call was received at 7 a.m. at the Mangolpuri police station, and local police responded promptly to the scene near Peer Baba Mazar main road, opposite Y Block Mangolpuri.Â
“When the police arrived, they discovered a purple bag containing the body of an unknown person with his neck slashed,” the officer said, adding that the adolescent was dressed in a white kurta-pajama.Â
The police have opened an inquiry and lodged a complaint under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).Â
“Several teams were established for the identification of the dead, for reviewing the CCTV video of the bordering regions, and for developing information regarding this incidence,” the DCP stated, after which the body was recognized.Â
The 17-year-old went missing on Thursday night, prompting a complaint to be filed at the south Rohini police station. Â
On Friday, a complaint was filed at South Rohini police station under Indian Penal Code section 363 (punishment for kidnapping) based on the missing report. The local police in Rohini is conducting additional investigations, according to authorities.Â
