A Couple is allegedly accused of beating their house help, the woman suffered from injuries to her eyes, face, limbs, abdomen, “head trauma”, and “physical assault.”
A Medico-Legal case (MLC) Has been reported from Safdarjung hospital on May 17th after a woman came into the hospital suffering from injuries to her eyes, face, limbs, abdomen, “head trauma”, and “physical assault.”
The woman was a 48-year-old domestic worker. She was allegedly beaten up by her employers, who even went forward and chopped off her hair. The incident happened at the employer’s house in West Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area.
Even though the incident happened on (Sunday) 15th May, a police FIR was registered on the night of (Wednesday) 18th May against the couple under sections of voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful confinement, and assault. No arrests have been made yet in the case as it’s still under investigation by the Police Department.
The woman worked for the couple since September and is from Siliguri, her family has been informed about the incident. The placement agency owner, Praveen Kumar Alleged that the couple called him on May 15th and informed him that the domestic help was sick, the next day they dropped her at his office.
Praveen said that he found out that the woman could not move so he rushed her into the hospital’s emergency. there she told him that she was subject to Physical assault as the couple used to beat her up regularly.
The DCP of West, Ghanshyam Bansal Said that he received the information from the hospital on Tuesday the woman was physically assaulted by her employers 2-3 Days before the call. He said that the woman could not recollect the exact date but gave her statement anyway, she said her hair was chopped off and she was thrashed by the employer and his wife.
No arrests in the case have been made so far but an MLC report from the Safdarjung hospital states that the woman suffered from “physical assault”, “head trauma”, and many injuries to her eyes face limbs abdomen Etc.
