Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated on Tuesday that the Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in the state. The code was discussed to bring about social harmony and unity among the citizens of the state. A committee was also set up for the same. The Uttarakhand Chief Minister also paid a visit to Ayurvedic Vishwa Vidyalaya. He addressed the programme on World Health Day. It was organized at Haridwar. He discussed the purpose and aim of the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code. “The scope of the UCC is to create uniform laws for every citizen regardless of their religion. It will also be a significant step towards fulfilling the vision of our constitution-makers.”, added Pushkar Singh Dhami.
He claimed that the UCC is aimed to be a significant step in the direction of a constitutional vision. He referred to the vision of India’s Constitution makers. Furthermore, he also added that the UCC will drive the state in that direction.
