Droupadi Murmu is the first tribal woman and a second woman in the history of India to become President of India.

She will be the 15Th President of India and the second woman in the history of India.
She is the first person to represent the tribal community as a candidate.

Murmu received 2824 votes and her opponent Yashwant Sinha got 1877 votes. A total of 4809 MPs and MLAs cast their vote for the election on the 18Th of July.
Secretary general of Rajya Sabha and the returning Officer for Presidential Election 2022, PC Mody handed Murmu, her certificate for the President of India.
After counting the votes, Droupadi Murmu was visited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president JP Nadda at her residence in the national capital Delhi and they congratulate her.
Droupadi Murmu has been part of the BJP since 1997 and she has been chosen many times for many different positions in the BJP and states.
In 2015, She became the First woman governor of Jharkhand. She is also the first tribal woman leader from Odisha to be the governor of a state.
