At a virtual all-hands meeting that will take place on June 16, Elon Musk will speak directly with Twitter workers.Ā At a virtual all-hands meeting scheduled on Thursday, June 16, Elon Musk will have a candid discussion with Twitter staff.Ā
Since announcing his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in April this year, Musk won’t participated in a company-wide meeting until now. Ā
Insider claims that on June 13, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal sent an email to the staff informing them of the meeting.
Leslie Berland, Twitter’s chief marketing officer, will conduct the meeting, according to Agrawal, and Elon Musk will allegedly take questions from the staff.Ā
What can we expect from the meeting?
The meeting will “address subjects and questions that have been raised over the previous few weeks,” according to Agrawal’s message. If deductions are to be made, the most recent themes are:
- Elon Musk’s current threat is to withdraw from the contract.Ā
- The problem of bots and spam accounts on Twitter.
- The reinstatement of the performance of former US President Donald Trump.
Additionally, after Musk’s $44 billion acquisition, there have been rumours of firing firm employees.
However, it is unclear whether the two sides’ problems will be resolved during the conference. Twitter’s stock performance is currently trading below the $54.20 Musk offered to buy the microblogging platform privately.
Musk’s Twitter threat
The billionaire threatened to cancel the agreement in a letter to Twitter earlier this month if the business failed to disclose information on the precise number of spam accounts and bots.
In the letter, Elon Musk’s legal team claimed that Twitter had broken the terms of the deal by retaining information. Ā
The letter stated, “Mr. Musk reserves all rights from there, including his right not to complete the deal and his right to terminate the merger agreement.
This action by Musk worked out well since Twitter eventually agreed to provide him with all of the information on fake accounts.
According to a Washington Post story, the social network business reportedly consented to release all of its data on spam “bots accounts,” which are automated accounts that generally spread fraud and false information.
Until now, one of the main impediments to the deal’s success has been the problem of bogus accounts operated by bots.
Musk is confident that the percentage is higher than 20%.
In contrast, Agarwal claims that spam accounts only make up 5% of the total.
